Nine nights, six stops, round-trip from Miami, and the shape here is unhurried for the Caribbean: the route loops down to the southern islands and the Colombian coast, then back up through Grand Cayman, with built-in sea time between the longer legs. Most of these ports drop you within walking distance of what matters, which is the real argument for this run. Willemstad puts you a flat ten-minute walk from the Handelskade and the swinging Queen Emma pontoon bridge. Cartagena is the walled fortress city, UNESCO-listed, and you exit the terminal through a 700-animal eco-park aviary with sloths and howler monkeys before you ever reach a taxi. Santa Marta, the oldest surviving Spanish city in Colombia, sits between the sea and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada, its free gold museum and cathedral a few minutes apart on foot.
This itinerary rewards travelers who want to walk out of the terminal into the town, not board a coach every morning. If you prefer beach days and excursion logistics, note the trade-offs: George Town is a tender port with the day built around the North Sound stingray sandbar, and Santa Marta really gives you one choice, the walkable old town or a single inland trip to Tayrona or Minca, not both. Aruba's draw is its beaches more than its town, so that day needs a taxi to pay off.
