Getting ashore

Ships dock at Zayed Port, roughly 5 kilometers from the city center, with taxis and the Big Bus hop-on service available right at the terminal. The Grand Mosque is about 15 minutes by car and the Louvre a bit farther on Saadiyat Island, so a taxi or guided transfer is the efficient way to pair them; one day comfortably covers the mosque, the Louvre, and the Corniche if you start early.

Weather and when to visit

• Dec to Mar (winter cruise season). The comfortable stretch, with warm dry days averaging around 24 to 25C, cooler evenings, low rainfall, and clear skies. January is the coolest and slightly the wettest month, but rain is brief and rare.
• Oct to Nov and Apr (shoulder). Warmer and more humid, with highs climbing toward 30C and above as the season edges toward summer, so midday outdoor stretches feel hotter.
