This one runs one-way from Southampton up to Copenhagen, and with seven nights against seven calls it almost never sits still. You start in England's main cruise gateway, with the Old Town walls and Bargate an easy walk from the Western Docks terminal, then cross to Zeebrugge, where the real day is Bruges, the canal-laced Flemish town 15 to 17 km inland that you ride into and walk end to end. From there it climbs the Norwegian coast: Stavanger, where the quay opens straight onto a preserved old quarter and an oil museum within a 20-minute walk; Bergen and its Hanseatic wharf at Bryggen, flat and walkable from the pier; tiny Nordfjordeid, where Sagastad and the Saga Trail's burial mounds sit ten minutes from the ship; and Flåm, launch point for one of the world's steepest standard-gauge railways and fjord cruises into the Nærøyfjord, both on foot from the dock.
This rewards a walker who wants to land in the center and explore on foot rather than ride coaches, and who likes a brisk pace over slow sea days. If you want downtime, look elsewhere; this is dense. And note the trade-offs: Zeebrugge is a working cargo port with no town of its own, and Preikestolen out of Stavanger is a 7 to 8 hour day that puts your return to the ship at real risk, so plan ports accordingly.
