• Walk Main Street (Dronningens Gade) through the old Danish warehouse district, the duty-free shopping spine of the town
• Climb the 99 Steps, a brick stairway built from Danish ship ballast, up to the Blackbeard's Castle viewpoint above the harbor
• Visit Fort Christian, the 1670s Danish fort that is the oldest standing structure in the territory
• See the St. Thomas Synagogue, one of the oldest in continuous use under the U.S. flag, known for its sand-covered floor
• Take the Skyride gondola to Paradise Point for a harbor overlook, the lift base is about a 6-minute walk from the Havensight pier
• Taxi over the hill to Magens Bay, a long calm-water beach roughly 4.5 miles from the dock

Getting ashore

Most ships berth at the West Indian Company dock in Havensight, a flat 20 to 25 minute walk along the water to Main Street, or a short shared-taxi ride. A few calls use Crown Bay about 2 miles west, which is taxi-only to town. One day comfortably covers either the historic core or a beach, not both at a relaxed pace.

• May. Typical highs near 29C, warm and humid with rainfall beginning to build as the dry season ends. Still generally good for a port day.
