Getting ashore

Ships anchor offshore and tender passengers in to a small dock at Great Harbour, a 5 to 10 minute ride. White Bay is about a 25 to 30 minute walk over a moderate sandy incline, or a short water-taxi hop, and one relaxed day is plenty for this island.

Weather and when to visit

• December to March (typical Caribbean cruise window). Typically the driest, steadiest stretch. Daytime air around the high 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, water near 78 to 80, steady trade winds, and rainfall usually under 2 inches a month in February and March.
