EXPLORA I · Mediterranean & Western Europe

6 nights, Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome)

August 23, 2027 – August 30, 2027 · 6 nights · 7 stops

Explora's name for it: A Journey through Sparkling Bays & Riviera Radiance

Six nights, seven calls, and almost no time at sea: this is a dense west-to-east run from Barcelona to Civitavecchia, the deepwater port for Rome, threading Spain's Balearics, Sardinia, and the French and Italian Rivieras. The hooks are specific. Mahón sits at the head of one of the world's longest natural harbors, and ships sail roughly 5 km up the inlet past old forts to reach town, so the sail-in is the call. At Saint-Tropez and Cannes you anchor and tender straight into the harbor, on foot in minutes, with a ferry from Cannes reaching the fortress island of Île Sainte-Marguerite. La Spezia is the mainland gateway to the Cinque Terre and Portovenere by train or ferry, and Civitavecchia puts the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Vatican within a navigable Rome core.

This itinerary rewards travelers who want range over rest: walkable Mediterranean towns, several anchor-and-tender stops, and very little downtime to recover. If you want slow sea days or a single deep stay, skip it. Note that both endpoints are gateways. Barcelona's terminal sits about 4 km out along industrial roads, and Civitavecchia is a working harbor about 80 km from Rome, so each end can eat travel time.

Explora I is all-suite and all-oceanfront.
