Ships anchor off Newhaven and tender roughly 15 to 20 minutes to the harbor, which is a working tender point rather than a cruise terminal. The tram stop sits about 500 meters away and runs into the city center in around 25 minutes, with taxis at the quayside and the Royal Yacht Britannia walkable; one day is enough for a focused city visit but not for the whole of Edinburgh.
