This sailing runs west out of Barcelona, where you can stand inside Sagrada Família in the morning and be lost in the Gothic Quarter by afternoon, then works down through Andalusia at Cádiz, where the ship ties up at the edge of an old town so dense you can cover the cathedral, the Roman theatre, and lunch in La Viña on foot. Funchal pairs Madeira's flat old town and 1940 market with a cable car up to Monte and the wicker-sled descent back down. After Madeira comes the Atlantic itself: open water before the Caribbean opens at St. John's, Road Bay's tender straight onto Sandy Ground Beach, and San Juan's walled colonial quarter a few steps from the gangway. The Gulf and western Caribbean follow, ending at PortMiami and MSC's Ocean Cay.
This rewards the traveler who wants the slow shape of a crossing and treats sea days as the point, not a gap to endure. The Caribbean and Gulf legs lean heavily toward beach and reef days at Road Bay, Roatán, and Ocean Cay, with gateway ports like Progreso and Belize City that eat most of a day reaching anything worthwhile inland.
