EXPLORA III · Caribbean & Central America

6 nights, San Juan to Miami

February 12, 2027 – February 19, 2027 · 6 nights · 6 stops

Explora's name for it: A Journey through Captivating Caribbean Culture & Sunlit Shores

Six nights, six ports, and a one-way line from San Juan to Miami with no sea days to soften it. This is a dense Caribbean run that trades downtime for variety. It opens at the Old San Juan piers, where the cobbled grid of pastel houses and two stone forts start a few steps from the gangway, so I walk the Paseo de la Princesa early and climb to El Morro for late-morning light before the tour buses arrive. From there the route gathers small islands a generalist itinerary skips: Terre-de-Haut in the Saintes, too small for the ship, where you tender straight into the village dock at Le Bourg and time Fort Napoleon first because it closes around midday and never reopens. Antigua rewards a beach over its short downtown browse, Fort James over busier Dickenson Bay. Puerto Plata gives you an amber town under a cloud-catching mountain.

This one is for travelers who like motion and a new harbor each morning, not for anyone wanting slow days at sea. Note the gateways: San Juan and Miami are real cities worth their own time, so build in nights on either end rather than treating them as transit. If your taste runs to long, languid sailings, a different route will suit you better.

Explora III is all-suite and all-oceanfront.
